About
Oksana Romanov began her legal career as an Assistant Crown Attorney. She conducted a high volume of bail hearings and trials in a fast-paced, high-pressure courtroom environment in two Ontario jurisdictions. This prosecutorial experience sharpened her litigation instincts and gave her a deep understanding of the Crown’s disclosure obligations, courtroom dynamics, and how to present evidence, effectively examine and cross-examine witnesses.
She previously served with distinction as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, conducting legal research, drafting legal memos, observing judge-alone and jury trials, and assisting the judiciary with special projects. This role gave her a valuable insight into judicial reasoning and evidence-based decision-making, which she now leverages to build persuasive arguments.
Oksana holds a Juris Doctor degree (with Distinction) from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Master of Arts in Communication from the State University of New York at Albany, where she studied as a U.S. Fulbright Fellow – one of the most prestigious academic scholarships for graduate students. Her academic background reflects her strong interpersonal and written communication skills as well as her ability to navigate complex legal issues with empathy and clarity.
She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and several professional associations, including the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, Women in Canadian Criminal Defence, The Advocates’ Society, and the Canadian Bar Association/Ontario Bar Association. These affiliations reflect her ongoing commitment to professional development, accountability, and civility.
Oksana’s practice is grounded in the belief that legal advocacy must reflect both the law and the lived experiences of people it serves. She fearlessly advocates for her clients and pursues the best possible outcomes based on the facts of each case, with an unwavering focus on the client’s dignity.
